Great Glen Way walking map.
Linear map showing the Great Glen Way walking route between Fort William and Inverness in Scotland over a series of map panels.
The Great Glen Way stretches from coast to coast, and follows Forestry Commission Scotland roads and tracks as well as the beautiful Caledonian Canal. It skirts the edge of several lochs including the famous Loch Ness, and passes through Gairlochy, Fort Augustus and Drumnadrochit before reaching Inverness.
This detailed full colour map shows the clearly mapped walking route on tracks, paths and roads, as well as alternative routes and other footpaths. Contours and terrain are clearly shown, along with tourist information, accommodation and other amenities. Also includes multi-lingual key, countryside code information and close ups of Fort William and Inverness.
Can be combined with the West Highland Way to walk between Glasgow and Inverness.
In October 2015 Route 78 of the National Cycle Network was officially opened along the Great Glen (Fort William to Inverness). However, this edition of Harvey's Great Glen Way map does not show Route 78.
Both the walking and cycling routes mostly use the same alignment between Fort William and Fort Augustus. Between Fort Augustus and Inverness this map can still be used to cycle with a mountain bike on the trails to the north of Loch Ness. Route 78 follows minor roads to the south of Loch Ness.
